About
Growing out of the networks involved in producing the Inter-Asia Cultural Studies journal project since 1998, IACS Society was formed in January 2004, in Bangalore India, to further intellectual exchanges in Asia and beyond.
Committed to the re/integration of Asia on the level of knowledge production, IACSS defines its central agenda as to provide spaces where intellectual across the region can interact.
To this end, IACSS will actively facilitate the process of institutional and group exchanges beyond the network of the individual. Further, to meet the increasing demand from the region, after the Seoul Conference held in 2005, IACSS plans to organize various activities, including bi-annual conference in the form of open call for panels, so that interactions and integrations in the region can be pushed forward.
The main organizing body of IACSS, for the moment, is based in Seoul.
